Tutorial: how to wash your face with oil

Did you know that you can wash your face using oil? Instead of using harsh chemicals, consider this method. You will need castor oil, olive oil, and essential oils of your choice.


Personally, I use lavender essential oils. It is supposed to help fight acne. Rose essential oils have an anti-aging effect.


Depending on your skin type, you will need to create the oil mixture differently. Watch this tutorial where I show you exactly how to mix up your face wash. Then I will tell you step by step how to wash your face using oil.

Nail Art Tutorial Blue Nails with Glitter Tips

One of my favorite DIY projects that I wrote about is how to make a galaxy design on white canvas shoes. Such a fun idea.

Glitter Tipped Nail Art Design

I love to keep my toenails painted during the summer months. In fact, even during the winter season, I try to keep them looking nice as well. Every time I paint my nails, I try to go with a design that I don't mind wearing with everything. Typically, I know that they will look the same for a few weeks, so I try to keep it interesting. Here is my most recent nail art design that didn't take much time at all to create.

Glitter Tipped Nail Art

I started with a two blue coats on my nails. Once both of the coats were dry, I painted the very tips with a bit of glitter. It doesn't take much glitter to give this look a fun sparkle. You don't have to be too accurate either for it to look nice. The last thing I did was choose two stickers to place on my big toe. Nail art stickers are such a fun way to add a nice touch to your nails. The last thing I did was to add a clear coat of polish over the look to make it shiny. 

This is such a simple look that you can create at home. You don't have to go to a salon to have beautiful nails.

How to Create False Bangs

Today I wanted to show you how to make it look like you have bangs, even if you don't. This is a simple style that you can do in a few minutes. 

The first thing you need to do is to gather a section of hair in the center of your head. This will be the hair you use for the bangs. Make them as thick as you like. 

Once you have the section of hair, make one twist and pin the hair as far back as needed to make the bangs as long as you desire. I pinned my hair about two inches back from my hair line. 

After you pin your hair in place, you will take your flat iron to straighten your hair into bangs. Curl the hair under, just like you would with bangs. 

To finish off the look, use a scarf or thick headband to cover up the bobby pins. You can make this look as dressy or casual as you like.

How to Make a Sugar Scrub

With winter being right around the corner, it is important to be ready for the dry skin that is sure to come about. You can easily make a sugar scrub with a few ingredients that will help to buff away your dead skin. Once you have buffed away all of the dead skin, the lotion you put on your skin will be more easily absorbed.

How to Naturally Lighten Underarms

When you shave often, you will likely notice that your underarms look darker than the rest of your skin. If you are anything like me, then you will know how embarrassing this can be to raise your arms and have dirty looking pits.

Makeup tutorial: Glitter Eye Makeup

Sometimes I like to do a heavier eye makeup look for when I'm going out or having a special event. Glitter eye makeup is one of my favorite looks for times like this. There are a lot of glitter eye makeup products on the market, but my personal favorite is a gold liquid eye makeup by Hard Candy. Hard Candy is a makeup line that gives bold colors.

How to Paint Red Nails With Glitter Tips

I bought a new red glitter polish yesterday, and I really wanted to try it out. This inexpensive glitter was not quite what I expected it to be, but I did like the results that I had with it, once I worked it out a little. 

First, what I did, was paint my nails red almost to the tip. Right where your nails start becoming white, I stopped there. Sort of like a reverse french manicure. Once I was done painting the red part, I painted the tips with chunky silver glitter. With that type of glitter, it is best to just dab so that the larger pieces will accent your nails. After that all dried, I painted over my entire nail with this L.A. Colors red glitter. This glitter was not that thick, and I felt like it really only gave a hint of glitter. That would be why I chose to use the silver glitter before I painted my nails. I wanted the tips to look more glittery than the L. A. Colors nail polish would afford me. 

This is how it turned out. Pretty nicely I think. 

Below are the three different nail polishes that I used to create this look. I'm not really big on particular brands of nail polish, I base my choices off of colors. I really love this color red, because it is not a true red, but deep and more burgundy, which is a great color for me.
